Bill 49 is an opportunity to remove the discriminatory barriers faced by people with disabilities in exercising their right to vote
Montréal, April 19, 2021 – Although Bill 49 removes some of the obstacles encountered by persons with disabilities in exercising their right to vote, the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse believes that the bill could go further. It believes that the legislator has the opportunity to adopt more comprehensive measures to ensure that this right is exercised under equal conditions, as specified in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms.
