Human Rights and COVID-19: Statement of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse

As the organization responsible for the application of the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms in Québec, the Commission would like to issue a few important reminders regarding the impact of the Coronavirus. In a context of crisis, it is essential to respect fundamental human rights, particularly those of the most vulnerable populations and groups historically discriminated against under section 10 of the Charter, in order to take into account the potential disproportionate impact of the pandemic on these people.
