Tamara Thermitus becomes president of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse
Ms. Tamara Thermitus, president of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse, took office today following her unanimously approved appointment by Québec’s National Assembly on February 7. This is the first time in the Commission's history that a racialized person becomes president and only the second time a woman is appointed to the position.
Montréal, February 20, 2017– Ms. Tamara Thermitus, president of the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse, took office today following her unanimously approved appointment by Quebec’s National Assembly on February 7.
