Racial profiling: the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse recommends a definitive ban on routine police checks
The Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse today recommended that the City of Montréal immediately and definitively prohibit routine police checks, which disproportionately affect certain groups. The Commission was invited to comment on the report on police interpellations prepared by independent researchers for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) at the Commission de la sécurité publique's public meeting.
