Last night, the Commission awarded Élise Gravel the Prix Droits et Libertés in recognition of the excellence of her work in raising awareness and popularizing complex and sometimes taboo subjects among children through her illustrations. The Prix Coup de cœur du public was awarded to Fondation Émergence for its #DénonceLaHaine campaign and a special mention from the jury was given to RAD, the Radio-Canada laboratory.
Montréal, Décember 6 2019 – The Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse last night awarded the Rights and Freedoms Award to Élise Gravel for the excellence of her work in raising awareness and popularizing complex and sometimes taboo subjects among children. Her illustrations make it possible to deconstruct prejudices even before they take hold in children's homes, and this is precisely what won the jury over. Distributed royalty-free on her website, her posters are shared in a viral way and cover the walls of schools in Québec.
