The proposed Bill on credit reporting officers must take into account the potential infringement of a broader range of rights
Montréal, August 26, 2020 - In a brief presented today to the Public Finance Committee of the National Assembly, the Commission explained that credit assessment is likely to affect a wider range of rights than it may at first appear. These include the right to the safeguard of one's reputation, a right to respect for one’s private life, the right to information, the right to equality and certain judicial rights. After analysing these impacts, the Commission recommends several amendments to the Bill.
