​​At the request of the Government of Québec, the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse (CDPDJ), in collaboration with the ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI), will hold a consultation on systemic discrimination and racism, the objective of which will be to propose concrete and lasting solutions, involving all the players in Québec society, to combat these problems. All Quebeckers will be invited to take part in the consultation that will take place in the fall of 2017.​

​A Montreal salon, which did not permit an Jewish employee to work on Saturday, the Sabbath and then dismissed him, was condemned by​ the Human Rights Tribunal to pay damages of $ 12,500 following a lawsuit brought by the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse.​
