​The Commission today announced that the Consultation on Systemic Discrimination and Racism has begun its work and has revealed the names of the organizations that will conduct local consultations. Led by the Commission and supported by experts, this consultation includes a number of components that will enable the participation of the public and civil society organizations.​

​​Following its systemic investigation of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean’s youth protection services, the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse has found that serious gaps and important shortcomings are compromising the respect of youth’s rights and has issued 23 recommendations to the Minister for Rehabilitation, Youth Protection, Public Health and Healthy Living, Lucie Charlebois, and to the Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (CIUSSS) of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean’s authorities.
