"It is now essential to adapt the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms to the current issues of work-family balance" - Philippe-André Tessier, interim President of the Commission

Montréal, May 29, 2018 – The Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse calls for an important amendment to the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, adding "family status" as a forbidden ground of discrimination. Québec is currently the only province that does not protect family status in its human rights legislation.
