Target clientele

Staff from organizations fighting homophobia and transphobia, self-help organizations, psychosocial rehabilitation agencies, community groups, teaching and non-teaching staff, student life animators, school principals and school boards, spiritual and community life animators, trainers, activists who lead human rights and freedoms defence or education projects, or who wish to develop such projects.


  • Fully understand the principles of the right to equality and prohibiting discrimination under the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms;
  • Deconstruct prejudices based on sexual orientation and gender identity or gender expression;
  • Understand and counteract discriminatory harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity or gender expression;
  • Fight against homophobia and transphobia.


Homophobia and transphobia are common forms of harassment. In an effort to remedy the situation, this training session deals with homophobic and transphobic prejudices, rights violations caused by homophobia and transphobia, the fallout for the actors involved as well as the means to combat both forms of harassment.

If requested, the session can focus exclusively on homophobia or transphobia.

Educational approach

Content is delivered using discussions, a participatory approach, simulation and other exercises, sharing good practices, and through an interactive presentation.
