Target clientele

This training session is primarily for anyone who wants to better understand prejudice, discrimination and racism in order to be better equipped to fight against racism and discrimination in their community.

Objectives

  • Learn about the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms;
  • Recognize racism, prejudices, and the various forms of discrimination;
  • Understand how racialized groups are included-excluded;
  • Fight against racism and discrimination;
  • Become familiar with means of recourse to ensure the right to equality is respected; Foster non-discrimination in the community.

Content

During this session, the Charter, jurisprudence, case studies, and means of recourse will be starting points to better understand racism, unequal relations, and forms of discrimination. Participants are better equipped to address racial discrimination in their communities, can better differentiate among various concepts, and can take steps to counter prejudice and racism.

Educational approach

Content is delivered using discussions, a participatory approach, simulation and other exercises, sharing good practices, and through an interactive presentation.
