Target clientele

This training session is intended primarily for people in positions of authority, trainers, workers in various community settings, police and activists who lead human rights and freedoms defence or education projects or wishing to develop such projects.


  • Become familiar with the relevant articles in the Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms;
  • Recognize the various forms of discrimination;
  • Understand the definition and indicators of racial and social profiling;
  • Understand the consequences of profiling;
  • Learn about available recourse and strategies for action to fight against profiling.


Using the Commission’s work, this training session helps to understand profiling and systemic discrimination. In addition to introducing reports, research data, case law and first-hand statements, this session identifies available recourse and strategies for action against profiling marginalized groups.

If requested the session can focus exclusively on racial or social profiling.

Educational approach

Content is delivered using discussions, a participatory approach, simulation and other exercises, sharing good practices, and through an interactive presentation.
