Fo Niemi

Fo Niemi is co-founder and, since 1983, executive director of the Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations, a not-for-profit organization for social action and the promotion of human rights. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in social work from McGill University, and also studied political science at Concordia University. Fo Niemi was a member of the Commission des droits de la personne du Québec from 1991 to 2003, and has sat on numerous working committees for federal, provincial, municipal and private-sector organizations in the fields of justice, public security, human rights and the media (Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Race Relations Foundation, Québec government working group on racial profiling, etc.).
