[ Close window ] Janice Ashcroft Janice Ashcroft graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education Degree and received her Bachelor of Laws Degree from Queen’s University in 1990. She represents the Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission at panel hearings and all levels of Court as well as negotiating and mediating human rights disputes. Janice Ashcroft has been the lead counsel on many important human rights decisions involving the duty to accommodate, equality rights for same sex partners and racial discrimination. Prior to her work at the Commission, she practiced in the area of general litigation. She has also been a teacher and has worked in the area of education law including the preparation of draft legislation. |
