​​In a recent Human Rights Tribunal ruling, a Québec City area business was sentenced to pay more than $30,000 in material, moral and punitive damages to a former employee represented by the Commission, who was fired illegally.​

​​On the eve of International Human Rights Day, the Commission calls on Quebecers to take up the United Nations’ invitation to “Stand up for someone's rights today!” It also launches two new publications to highlight the coming into force of the Québec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms 40 years ago which will help foster a better understanding of human rights and freedoms.
