The Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information 
[the Act respecting access] recognizes the right of citizens to have access to documents held by a public body.
According to the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information , public bodies are obliged to publish a series of documents and information on their websites insofar as they have been made accessible by the Act respecting access.
